Line and Shape
Texture, Pattern, and Rhythm
I moved beyond subject matter by not just looking for something nice to take a picture of, but finding something interesting that would make the viewer want to touch. I feel as though my image with the leafs is the most captivating because you can see all the texture and pattern within the pile. The lighting conditions definitely made an impact on the quality of the image. Sometimes having the sun point at the thing you are shooting is cool because it casts a nice shadow that adds to the image. Having too much sun can also ruin an image because it washes out the color or blocks out the image you want to shoot with the light. If I could shoot one of the images again it would be the image with the records because although it came out cool and i'm proud of it, I kind of want to see more of the texture within the albums.
Playground and Power lines
I considered the rule of thirds to compose all six of my shots. I made sure that the object I was taking a picture of was not in the exact middle of the shot to make it more interesting. I feel the fifth shot has a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work. The sixth shot contains the best play of organic and geometric shapes. I think the fourth and sixth shot satisfy the assignment the best because they have a good concept of the law of thirds and line and shape. I feel they are the most interesting of all six of my shots.
